Why did Prophet Muhammad prohibit to visit this mysterious place in Saudi Arabia?

Hegra, also known as Mada’in Salih, is one of the most fascinating archaeological sites in Saudi Arabia. In Islamic tradition, Hegra, also known as Al-Hijr, is a place associated with the tribe of Thamud people and their prophet Saleh as mentioned in the Holy Qur'an 54:28. The prophet Saleh was sent to the Thamud people to guide them towards worshipping only one God, but they rejected his message, continued their transgression and challenged him to split an enormous rock into two and from inside, should come an extremely large and attractive camel. When the camel miracle appeared, instead of believing in the Almighty, the continued their transgression, killed the camel and the Almighty Allah punished them with a severe earthquake.
