The Quran mentioned this 1500 years ago/ How did prophet Muhammad know this ?

The Holy Quran talks about the oceans in Chapter 24 verse 40.This verse mentions that the deep waters of the seas and oceans are covered with waves, and above these waves are other waves. It is clear that the second set of waves are the surface waves that we see, because the verse mentions that above the second waves are clouds. The internal waves cover the deep waters of the seas and oceans because the deep waters have a higher density than the waters above them.

وَأَنَّ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطِى مُسْتَقِيمًۭا فَٱتَّبِعُوهُ ۖ وَلَا تَتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلسُّبُلَ فَتَفَرَّقَ بِكُمْ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ ۚ ذَٰلِكُمْ وَصَّىٰكُم بِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَّقُونَ
