Islam arrived in the Philippines in the 1380s via Indonesian migrants. It first spread to the islands of Mindanao and the Sulu archipelago, which are still the two regions with the largest Muslim populations in the Philippines. Statistics show that in recent years, the number of converts in the Philippines has increased significantly.
